　　　晚上的时候，电脑里很小声的放着Mariah Carey的一首老歌，97年专辑Butterfly里的最后一首歌，叫Outside．一首玛利亚自己用心写的歌曲，一首关于自我认识，自我归属的歌曲．听Mariah略带沙哑的嗓音唱这首歌曲，有一种心痛，心痛的不仅仅是歌曲忧伤的旋律，更多是的，歌词里所传达的一种失落，一种无助，一种茫然，和一种伤痛．

　　　这是一个怎样的世界？面对无休止的歧视，无休止的误会，无休止的冷漠．找到自己的方向，越来越困难．无数的不确定摆在你的眼前的时候，是沉着的面对，或者是无奈的唉叹？没有人能够说得清楚，只有经历过的人才会深刻体验到．

　　　在歌曲里，Mariah一遍遍的唱道，God knows，that you're standing on your own，Blind and unguided，into a world divided．You're thrown，where you're never quite the same....在一个扭曲的世界里，没有人明白你的痛苦．想起玛利亚的身世，想起她在97年以前所经历的那些痛苦，婚姻不自由，被束缚．做为黑白混血儿的童年阴影，这些一切一切，绕在一起，在歌曲中得到了最真实的体现．我们都知道Mariah是坚强的，从她勇敢的站出来结束婚姻的束缚，到后来的面对＂精神崩溃＂的传言，到后来的再次站起来，都一次次体现了她不屈的性格．可谁又知道，就是这样一个铁一样的女人，也有困惑，也有迷茫的时候，自己到底身在何处，将去哪里？没有一个确定的答案．她唱的，Uncertainty forever lies，and you'll always be somewhere on the outside.

　　　这就是Outside想要传达给我们的．歌曲中，她说It's hard，很难，对她来说，的确很难．在外人眼里，风光无限，而所有繁华的背后，是茫然，是无助，是失落和无奈．Early on, you face the realization you don't　have a space,　Where you fit in？我想，玛利亚不只一次问过自己这个问题吧．做为一个黑白混血的歌手，在经历过童年种种歧视，轻蔑于是不理解后，终于长大了，终于有了自己的一片天空，可是，误会和不理解并没有随之而去，心中的不安始终萦绕着，自己究竟属于哪里，哪里才会是自己的空间，也许自己永远是一个outsider，永远站在outside，And you'll always be，Somewhere on the outside．
