最近电脑里面经常发的两首歌，一首就是Vision of love，另外一首就是We belong together.两首歌间隔了16年多，都是Billboard的冠军歌曲，都是Mariah Carey的经典歌曲，这两首歌都把她送上了格来美的领奖台上，前者为她获得了90年最佳流行女歌手和最佳新人奖，后者为她夺得了最佳R&B歌曲奖等3项大奖。
90年以前的Mariah Carey，还是个青涩的少女，用她自己的话来说，她甚至不知道什么是Billboard,Grammy，什么是金唱片，白金唱片。可是也就是在这一年，她凭借着她的黄金嗓子，一举拿下了包括格来美，BILLBOARD之内的多个大奖 。于是她成名了，人人都知道在美国有个棕色头发，能够发出只有机器才能发出的高音的女歌手，她叫Mariah Carey.刚刚出道的Mariah，在演绎Vision of love的时候，还略显得有些稚嫩，在唱工方面，还不是那么的成熟和尽善尽美，但是，她不缺乏的是激情的迸发与未经雕的真情的流露。听早期的Mariah唱Vision of love，是一种享受，可以感受到她对音乐的无比热爱，听她时而低沉，时而高亢，时而婉转，又时而犀利的嗓音，不得不说，Mariah给予Vision of love赋予的，不仅仅是一首Billboard冠军单曲，更多的是，对爱的一份憧憬，对音乐的一份热爱与坚持。
于是，许多年过去了，尽管在音乐上，在事业上，在生活上，她遇到了许多的困难，有人说她疯了，有人说她完蛋了，但是正是由于对音乐的这份坚持，Mariah Carey一路就这样走过来了，于是在2005年，诞生了和Vision of love同样具有划时代意义的We belong together。这首歌，想对于以前的Vision of love，在唱工上面，已经有了很大的提高，歌曲无论是在演唱技巧，还是歌曲的表现力上，都有了不小的飞跃。也许，从她略有些沙哑的吟唱中，我们可以看到这15年来她所经历的沧桑，可以感受得到她的些许疲惫，但是，更多的，我们仍然可以感受得到她对音乐的坚持，这些年一如既往，没有改变。媒体在关心她什么时候又有了新男友，什么时候又穿什么衣服了，什么时候发疯了，什么时候又说什么了，其实，真正应该关注的，恰恰就是他们忽略的。Mariah在继续往前面走，我们不知道她前面的路会怎么样，希望是一路平坦。但不管怎么样，路上她自己选的，我们祝福她。
最后，用她在99年获得Billboard十年最佳歌手(Artist of the Decade)时所说的话来结束这篇文章，"...we've come a long way,and I feel I'm just getting started,because as an artist,and most importantly,as a person ,I'm genuinely happy to finally free to be who I really am."
